Dave Peck returns to Tula’s with his stellar trio. Joined by Jeff Johnson on bass and Eric Eagle on drums, Peck and his band mates are known for their playful, sensitive and swinging interplay.

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dave Peck is recognized as an outstanding composer, arranger and pianist. He is known for his focus on the profound beauty he finds in the narrative of this music and has been lauded by the jazz press for his award winning CD’s Trio, Solo, 3 and 1, Out of Seattle, Good Road and Modern Romance. From 1978 to 1996 Dave performed as a sideman, most notably, as pianist and composer for legendary saxophonist Bud Shank. Their collaboration led to the CD, Tales of the Pilot, Bud Shank plays the music of David Peck, and Live at Jazz Alley, Tomorrow’s Rainbow and The Lost Cathedral.

Marian McPartland said of Peck, “He’s a pianist and composer who possesses great musicality, sensitive touch, lovely tone and a great sense of swing.”

JazzNow.com said, “You’d be hard pressed to find a better example of true musical communication and communion than this band. “

And The Hartford Courant said, “Peck works…mellow magic with his luminous, single note lines and shimmering, romantic harmonies…the trio manage to be meditative and mysterious, while creating a groove that breathes with life at any tempo, even the slowest, and in any mood, even the most poetic.”

Tula’s, featuring locally sourced Pacific Northwest cuisine; located at 2214 2nd Avenue in Seattle is the home of Northwest Jazz and one of Downbeat’s 100 Top International Jazz Clubs.
