“A painterly young pianist with a chamber-like approach to composition. – The New York Times
As a pianist, keyboardist, and composer, Theo Hill has emerged as a fresh voice on the New York scene. Known for his versatility, originality, and sensitivity, Hill’s extensive study of diverse styles has led to a prolific career with artists including Charles Tolliver, Frank Lacy, Lenny White, Wallace Roney, Joe Sanders, E.J. Strickland, and Marcus Gilmore. With his dexterous touch and total commitment to the moment, Hill makes a particularly strong impression when the band is swinging hard and fast, but he also keeps things interesting by throwing in a variety of tempos and stylistic influences. For this appearance at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Hill will be celebrating the release of his latest album, Promethean, alongside the same excellent rhythm section featured on the recording.
