Two concerts at The Stone, NYC
Ukrainian pianist and composer Vadim Neselovskyi is having a good year. His new CD Get Up and Go is garnering acclaim, including a 4-star review in All About Jazz by Dan Bilawsky, who calls it “a life-affirming treasure of an album.”
Neselovskyi is also pursuing other musical projects which land him in New York City for two gigs in July, one featuring the music of John Zorn and the other featuring his own duos and trios. Both concerts are at The Stone at The New School, 55 West 13th St., New York City.
Friday, July 21, 8:30 p.m. Solo Piano featuring music of John Zorn. Just two weeks ago Neselovskyi recorded a CD of John Zorn’s Masada material together with Craig Taborn (coming soon on Tzadik label). This concert features tunes from the record and original compositions.
Saturday, July 22, 8:30 p.m. Duos and Trios featuring Dan Loomis (bass) and Aubrey Johnson (voice). This concert features Neselovskyi with longtime collaborators Loomis (also featured on Get Up and Go) and Johnson in a program of Neselovskyi originals.
