Pianist, composer, and four–time GRAMMY Award nominee, Gerald Clayton searches for honest expression in every note he plays. His inclusive sensibilities have allowed him to perform and record with such distinctive artists as Diana Krall, Roy Hargrove, Dianne Reeves, John Scofield, and the Clayton Brothers Quintet, just to name a few past associations. Since early 2013, Clayton has toured and recorded with the band led by legendary saxophonist Charles Lloyd. He received 2012 and 2013 GRAMMY nominations for Best Jazz Instrumental Album for, respectively, Bond: The Paris Sessions and Life Forum, both released on Concord Jazz. On his latest CD Tributary Tales (2017, Motema Music), Gerald Clayton “acknowledges the influence of new people and new sounds on his music and life, tracing his course from straight–ahead player who grew up on the West Coast in a family of jazz heavies to New York musician charting his own path.” (Chicago Reader)
