One performance at the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society, Half Moon Bay CA
Multiple GRAMMY® nominee and DownBeat poll winner Lew Tabackin is described as “one of the few jazz musicians who has been able to develop completely different musical personalities on two instruments.” (Scott Yannow) Lew’s delicate flute playing contrasts with his hard bop style on sax. His credits include dozens of albums, classic big bands led by Cab Calloway and Maynard Ferguson, the Doc Severinson studio band, and the award-winning big band formed with his wife, the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra. Just off recent tours of Europe and Japan, Lew returns to the Bach with his Trio to open the Winter Series.
