Inspirations

Pianist and composer Glenn Zaleski is acclaimed for his expressive musical approach, seamlessly blending influences like Bill Evans and Dave Brubeck. His career includes collaborations with artists like Ravi Coltrane and Ari Hoenig. In late 2020, Zaleski received an unexpected invitation from Cécile McLorin Salvant to join her on an extensive European tour It turned out to be a pivotal experience, reigniting his passion for performing after the pandemic. Among the tour’s repertoire, Salvant’s original composition “Monday” resonated deeply with Zaleski. This connection inspired him to record the first instrumental interpretation of the piece on his 2024 album, Star Dreams, showcasing his ability to translate vocal narratives into evocative piano expressions and his commitment to explore the original  compositions of his contemporaries.
