Ben Allison returns to California to perform in Berkeley and Half Moon Bay, CA with The Easy Way Trio. This cooperative unit is based on the drummerless trios of Jimmy Giuffre. Guitarist Steve Cardenas and Ben will be joined on these concerts by Bay Area saxophonist Mike Zilber.
The trio will play music from Ben’s album Quiet Revolution (Sonic Camera, 2018) which features tunes by Jim Hall and Jimmy Giuffre. Both concerts will be held in intimate performances spaces that are perfectly suited for the kind of musical “trialogue” that this project is known for.
Also, while in the Bay Area, Ben will be conducting a workshop at the California Jazz Conservatory entitled “Releasing Your Own Album – What Every Indie Artist Needs to Know.” He’ll be sharing what he has learned over 25+ years in the music industry.
